It can't be. The deed and title are part of the same thing. The deed is the legal instrument used to convey title. So what he said doesn't make any sense at all.

Let us know some additional info.

Are you on a mortgage together?

Does the house have any equity?

By signing a quitclaim you are giving up your rights to the property. Is this what you want to do?

Hi,

If you are removing your name from the title with a quit claim deed then how can your name still be on the title? You will lose ownership to that property.

But if you are on the mortgage, a quit deed will not take you out of the financial responsibilities.

Hi,

If you remove your interest from the deed, your name will not be there in the title. So, I think your ex-husband is trying to make you fool and get the whole property to his name. If you really want to quit the entire claim from the property, then it is all right. Otherwise, be careful and do not sign any deed.

With best wishes,
Larry

if you remove my name from the title by a quitclaim deed and it's valid. you will loss your property. your ex will claim the whole property by the law, because of the quitclaim deed. so, don't believe it.
