I own a home with my long-term boyfriend. We are splitting up and have mutually agreed that he keep the house, can I sign a quitclaim deed and he refinance soley under his name? Will this negatively affect my credit?

Hi landmrk,

Welcome to the forum.

You have done the right job. Your boyfriend has refinanced the mortgage on his name and you have quitclaimed the property you him. So you have no obligation on this property or on the mortgage.

BTW I think quitclaim does not affect credit score.

Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.

Best of luck,
Larry
