My ex husband got the house in the divorce. I will be getting nothing,no equity, the house is in my name since my credit score was better than his. He was supposed to refinance it 2 years ago so I could get my name off the house and buy a house. I have been renting for 3 years. He is dragging his feet with alot of excuses. Is there a way to get my name off the house, or somehow buy a house without dealing with waiting for him the refinance?

Welcome Susan,

Unless your ex-husband refinances the mortgage in his name, your name won't be removed from the mortgage docs. So, you should negotiate with him and request him to refinance the mortgage asap.
