OG Guest	Posted: Thu Nov 05, 2009 3:42 pm    Post subject: quit claim deed Like 0 Dislike 0 Hi, I am divorced and tried to refinance a house to remove my ex husband from it. I have his signed QCD. The refinancing did not go through, neither the name removal. What are my other options to remove the name from the house/deed.

You can record the deed at the county recorder's office and become the sole owner of the property. As far as mortgage is concerned, you will have to refinance it.
