my husband and his mom had bought a house together a couple of years ago...she forced him sign a quits claim deed. We want to know if by sighning that paper did he loose all rights to the house? When selling the house will he have any say in it? And if sold will he be able to collect profit?

thank you.

Hi IQ!

Welcome to forums!

If your husband signed the quitclaim deed as a grantor transferring the property rights to his mother, then he won't be considered as a co-owner of the property anymore. Thus, he won't have any say when the property is sold off and he won't be able to collect any profit.

However, it is illegal to force anyone to sign a quit claim deed. If you have the required proof, your husband can contact an attorney and take legal actions against her.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
