Hi ACE!

Welcome to forums!

Unless your brother signs the quitclaim deed in the favor of his ex-wife, he won't be able to remove his name from the property deed. After he does so, he should ask his ex-wife to refinance the mortgage in her name.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Hey ACE,

The only way your brother will be able to remove his name from the mortgage is by signing the quitclaim deed. Refinancing a mortgage is exchanging the terms of the loan for new terms. You may swap out the terms if you are financially unstable, cannot make further payments in full or need to change the name(s) on the loan.

Hope i could help you out!
