My husband owns property with brother and sister tens-in com undivided one third interest. He quit claimed his interest back to himself and wife as tenents in common. Now tax bill with new tax number has arrived. Property now in he and wifes name only. Very confused. Also no longer on record at recorders office.

Hi alapat,

Welcome to the forum.

Who are on the deed now that you find in the recorder's office? Has the husband informed or took permission from the other co-owners of the property when he has quitclaimed?

Contact an attorney ASAP.

Best of luck,
Larry

I don't think he can quitclaim the interest back to himself. Also, the recorder's office does not delete records. What are you trying to do here?

Note - I split this thread from "Which is better - Interspousal Transfer or Quit Claim Deed?"
