my sister passed away and she didn't have a will, her home and property are paid for. Her four children want to transfer the property into all of their names and don't want to sell. How do they do this? Can they file a quit claim deed?

Hi jhjdecor,

Welcome to our community forums.

The children need to file an Affidavit of heirship since their mother hasn't left behind a Will. This legal doc will help remove their mother's name from the deed and they'll be able to inherit the property once the deed is filed.

Regards,

Jessica
