My mother was cohered into signing a quit claim deed by my brother and didn't even realize what she was signing to begin with. I am her daughter and I have a sister, do we have any rights to disputing the quit claim deed, or is there anything at all that can be done to reverse what has transpired, do it make a difference in what state you live in? What are the laws exactly governing transferring property from parent to children?

It is your mother who has the rights to dispute the deed. However, you can speak to a real estate attorney and check out if you have the rights to dispute the property deed. The state laws will govern the transfer of property from parent to children.

Hi Guest,

Welcome to Mortgage fit,

Apart from your mother you can also dispute the deed for the reason of unequal distribution of the hereditary wealth. But surely in this case you will have to contact an attorney for the perfect guidance on the subject matter.

Feel free to ask any further query if you have....
