is my quit claim deed my title.. how do I find out if there is a lien on my propety

Did the home owner quitclaim the property? Quitclaim deed does not assure that the title is free from any lien but warranty deed assures you that the title is free from lien.

you can save yourself some money by visiting the town clerk or county clerk where documents are recorded and searching through the records yourself.

as noted above, a quit claim deed simply transfers one person's interest in a property to another person; there is no warranty involved, be it ownership percentage or lien involvement.
