I am filing a quit claim today. I am not on mortgage - just on deed. I have a feeling my GF will try and stop it somehow.....is this possible?
Can someone say they wont let me give them the property?

Camron,

Are you transferring ownership over to your girlfriend? It is not clear whom you are transferring your interest to.

Hi Camron,

Welcome to Mortgagefit discussion board.

You cannot transfer the whole property to someone else. As you & GF own the property together if it is to be given to someone her signatures will also be required along with yours.

You have rights to transfer only your share of ownership to any other person you wish to.

Do let me know of you have any other questions.

Thanks
Blue

Hi Camron,

If you are sole owner to the property, you can quitclaim it over to any person you wish. Your girlfriend has no right to stop you. But if she is included in the title along with you, then you cannot make the transaction without her consent.
