Realtor is a real estate professional who has a membership with the National Association of Realtors and follows its Code of Ethics. The realtor protects and promotes private ownership of real property. He sets up and maintains high professional standards put forward by the National Association of Realtors organization (NAR).
For example: Jacob is a real estate agent who works on behalf of buyers. He is a member of the local real estate board associated with the National Association of Realtors. Thus, Jacob is a realtor.
The National Association of Realtors comprises of residential and commercial brokers, salespeople, appraisers and all others associated with the real estate industry. The NAR governs the local Multiple Listing Services (MLSs) which include information exchanges used across the nation by brokers.
Realtors are the individuals who can guide you when you are buying or selling a property. In return, they charge a commission which often covers 6% of the sales price of the property. With the help of brokers, the realtors can access all MLS (Multiple Listing Service) listed homes in your area of interest.
Realtors can provide you will all information on properties for sale as per your suitability. They help you to deal with other parties in the sale thereby getting together the contract, and submitting your documents to the title company. |
