Refi wait time after Ch 13

Rco2120 Joined: 19 Sep 2008 Posts: 1 1.63 Dollars($)	Posted: Fri Sep 19, 2008 1:20 pm    Post subject: Refi wait time after Ch 13 We filed a Ch 13 in 10/01; all payments timely paid, discharged 11/06. Now looking to refi with some cash out for improvements. Have 790 score, and 50% + equity in home. My broker says the wait to qualify for conv. financing is 4yrs from discharge, for FHA its 2 years. Wondering if he's correct, thought I read somewhere that the waiting periods are from the FILING date, not the DISCHARGE date. Is he correct?
Susanne Guest 0.10 Dollars($)	Posted: Mon Sep 22, 2008 5:55 am    Post subject: Hi Rco2120 ! You can try for FHA loans if 1 year have passed after discharge of the bankruptcy. If you are planning for conventional loans, you will have to wait till 2 years after discharge of bankruptcy.
