My wife has a mortgage in her name that she owes 89,000 on. Taxes were not escrowed in and we got behind on the taxes and they paid them and raised the payment from 700 to 1700. We paid only the 700 for a few months and they then sent a letter saying they would accept 41,00 and release the lein. Is there a way for me to get a mortgage or refinance it into my name to pay them so we could have a new escrowed house payment that we could afford?

Hi biggc!

Welcome to forums!

In order to refinance the loan, your wife should be current on her mortgage payments. Once the loan is current, you can either contact the current lender or other lenders to get the property refinanced in your name.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
