Is it possible to refinance while behind a payment? Or if I get caught up can I refinance? I need to hear back asap. Thank you

Depending on your situation - yes you can still refinance.

If your mortgage repayments are too high for you to handle, refinancing might be a very good idea, though you might want to also consider a loan mod

modification with your lender is a far more likely scenario than refinancing. lenders now want to see that you are able to make payments, and a delinquency right now would fail to prove that to them. it would prevent them from granting a loan.
