My husband is 65 (retired) and I will be 62 next month and still working at present, my question is we have live in our home for 24 yrs and I purchase a swimming pool about (10 yrs ago) and when I signed the paper work without my husband signature, they put a lien on the property. Would this make us ineligible for a reverse mortgage.

Hi carolyn,

Who put the lien on your property? Why did they put the lien? Is it somehow related to the fact that you signed the paperwork without your husband's signature? How much is your house supposed to appraise for? If it is possible to pay off the lien with the reverse mortgage proceeds, the lender should not have any problem in giving you the loan.
