My second mortgage, according to my 3 credit reports, has been closed, showing no balance due and not delinquent. I have not paid this 2nd mortgage off. I did file Ch. 13 BK in June 2004 and was discharged August 2007. Can someone please explain. Thanks.

Was the 2nd mortgage included in the Ch 13 BK repayment plan?

That might be the reason why... I'd be weary of asking them to report. It might help your scores, but they might also report all of the late payments on the arrearage as well.

Welcome domsmom,

I have to agree with Shane, be weary of asking them to report as it might have a negative impact on your credit.

It is not uncommon to see mortgage accounts that are in some way included in a bankruptcy to report as closed.

If you need to prove your payment history with that particular lender, you should ask them for a verification of mortgage. That will show your payment history generally for the last 12 months.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
