how to i gain possession of the deed and place my name on it? the land is in sumter county,sc.

Hi bronxcanty,

If there is a will, then it needs to be probated after the grantor's death. Once the probate is complete, the property would be divided to the beneficiaries as per the will. If your son is alive, then you can ask him to sign a quit claim deed and transfer the property to you. This will make you the owner of the property and your name will be mentioned in the property deed.
