|
|
| Before my wife's mother died, her brother convinced their mom to sign over all of her assets (which he was spending like a drunken sailor before she died) to include cash, coins, jewels, guns and quit claim deeds on two pieces of property. The estate. He didn't file the quit claim deed on the main property before she died and now claims that he has up to 8 months after her death to do so. (in South Carolina) Can he do this? |

Hi Lee H!
Welcome to forums!
As far as I know, if the quitclaim deed is not recorded before the grantor's death, it will not be considered as a valid. I don't he will be able to file the quitclaim deed now.
Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
