I have been divorced for 11 years now in the great state of TN. In the final settlement I was awarded the house and my X was awarded two lots that we owned jointly. The judge put a lein on the two lots to secure child support. We are due back in court in less than 2 weeks and I just realized my attorney 11 years ago never filed the quit claim papers. I have paid off my house along with the two lots. Much to my surprise his name is still on all the property.

Must I contact an attorney for this or can I use an online form. Need one for each of us to have our names removed for the respective deeds.

HELP!!!

Welcome DAC,

You can get quitclaim deed forms online but it will be better if you can contact an attorney and get it drafted from him/her. I think consulting an attorney will be a better option. However, you can check out some sample quitclaim deed forms here.

Hi DAC,

Contacting an attorney will be a better option in my opinion. The attorney will help you to fill out the quitclaim deed form in a better way and will also help you to understand the legal terms in it.

Thanks,

Jerry
