| I heard of an unusual old TN law, whereby the widow's mortgage is automatically paid in full. She would have to consult an attorney to draw up the proper paperwork. |

Hi kathleenstrach!
Welcome to the forums!
I am sorry to say but I haven't heard of any such law in TN.
Feel free to ask if you have further queries.

I have never heard of such a thing. Although, I wouldn't put it too far past the realm of possibility since there was once a time when it was rare for a woman to work. I have also seen several very strange laws over the years. Such as in GA, it is illegal to eat chicken with a fork, and in VA you can still beat your wife on the courthouse steps. I wouldn't doubt that it may have been a law at one time but has been replaced/rescinded by a new law. _________________ Benjamin Smith
