Can two occupant co-borrowers, both on deed, get an A6 home equity cash out loan in the state of Texas if we aren't married yet? We have an existing A6 home equity loan (in her name only) and no other mortgage, and we want to pay it off and get some cash out to pay off two credit cards. Both our credit is decent and should qualify in every other aspect. I would guess that the bank wouldn't care whether we are married. I'm just wondering if there may be some Texas quirk in the A6 wording, or homestead rules. Also, my name added to the deed less than 6 months ago.

Welcome rma,

If both the occupants are co-borrower of the loan and both of them meet the required criteria of the lender, then they will be able to qualify for a Texas A6 home equity cash out loan. To know more about Texas A6 law, check out given page:
