How do I add another person to my house deed. I live in texas and would love to add my partner's name to it to reflect that we both own it and not just me. what are the procedures to doing this. Can I use a particular form short of consulting and retaining an attorney for this. thx.

Hi Edward,

You can use a quit claim deed in order to add your partner's name to the property deed. You should contact a real estate attorney and he will help you in drafting the deed. Once you fill it out, make sure to notarize and record it at the county recorder's office.

Thanks
