My ex-husband recently passed and we have the house (paid off) which was originally purchased in 1969 in both our names I would like to add my eldest son of seven living children to the deed, how do I go about doing this in TX. Thanks

Hi,

You have to sign a quit claim deed to add this child on deed. Ask you attorney to sign a quit claim deed.

Thanks & Regards.

Welcome Guest,

You will have to remove your deceased ex-husband's name from the property deed. For this, you need to sign an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office. Once the property is transferred solely in your name, you can then sign a quit claim deed and add your son to the property deed.
