I've solely inherited a home from my aunt (deceased) through her will. How do I transfer the deed to my name. Quit claim or survivorship deed? I live in TX

Hi jsteemer,

A quitclaim deed or a survivorship deed won't help as your aunt (who is required to sign the deed as grantor) is no more with you. As she has left a will, the property needs to be probated. Has it been probated? If yes, then I believe, all you need to do is file her death certificate with the county recorder's office, along with proof of your ownership to change the deed in your name.
