I'm trying to buy a home in Texas but I might need a cosigner for an FHA loan. Can my cousin cosign if he lives in California?

Hi sweetpinkme,

As far as I know, though your cousin lives in California, he will be able to cosign for a loan in Texas. However, in my opinion, it would be better if you could inform your lender about this prior to signing the loan documents. If the lender has any objections, he will let you know.

Thanks
