My husband and I got a loan on a mobile home in 1998 from IndyMac Bank. In 2004 we lost our jobs and tried to work with the lender to tack on 3-4 months of payments to the end of the loan so we could get back on our feet. They would not cooperate. We got served court papers that IndyMac was suing us because we would not voluntarily give up the property. We had received 2 or 3 default notices prior to the court papers. I called the lawyer that was on the court papers and told him we were trying to work out payments with IndyMac. We told him that we would just let them have the house since there seemed to be not resolution to the default. So we left and moved somewhere else asap.

Hi Guest!

Welcome to forums!

Once your property is foreclosed upon, you would be responsible to pay off the deficient amount resulting from the sale of the property. If you've paid off the deficient amount, then the lender cannot harass you for the payments.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
