I am going through a divorce in Tx. I need to buy a home. Can I get a mortgage while I am still married?

Like 0 Dislike 0 I am going through a divorce. For some reason, my husband will retain our home. I am looking to buy a home. My real estate agent informed me this evening that I cannot get a mortgage until my divorce is finalized. At this point, my husband will have me out of the house by May 15, whether our divorce is finalized or not. I need to have a house to take my two collies with me. I need some help. I can qualify for a new loan. I have excellent credit and make 62,000 a year. I am a teacher, so I have my trs retirement to back me up. I have taught for 30 years. Thanks for any information anyone can give me.
