Married buyer wants to know if he can have the loan in his name only?

In Texas, can a married person have the home loan in his name only? Does the wife have to be on title? Any other points of information I need to know?

Welcome to the forums.

I guess it is possible for a married person in Texas to have a loan in his name only. Since Texas is a community property state, therefore, the wife will inherit an equal share of interest in property. It's not mandatory for the wife to be on the title.

However, in case you add your wife on the loan, then she will have a community property interest as per the Moore Marsden Rule .
