I have a property in Texas that is free and clear. I have been told I can't refinance and get cash out because it is an investment property and I live in another state.Does anyone have a different answer?

Hi pljs,

I haven't heard of any such rule which states that you cannot get a cash out refinance on an investment property. You should contact other local lenders and apply for a loan. This will help you know whether or not other lenders will help you in getting a mortgage. You can even speak to the lenders of this community and seek a no obligation free mortgage quote in order to know the type of rates and terms you would qualify for.

Thanks
