My sister wants to pay the taxes due on our dad's house because she thinks we can claim ownership that way. The house was left to our step-brother in his mother's Will as her half of community property. Can we regain property by paying property taxes?

Welcome wj,

As the will mentions that the property will be transferred in your step-brother's name, then I don't think tax payments will help you in regaining the property.
