I am looking to a buy a house in Texas. I consider myself a resident of Texas, but, I am currently working out of state on contract. Is it possible to purcahse a house in Texas and close on it without having to fly to Texas at all. If it helps this will be my first mortgage.

Hi adeel_y2k,

You will have to speak to the lenders in Texas. It will be totally the lender's discretion whether he will give you the mortgage. Moreover in today's market lenders have tightened their rules for giving mortgage to people. They will be checking your credit score as well as income before giving you the loan.

This community also has a number of lenders. You can seek a no-obligation free mortgage consultation from them. You can then compare the rates given by the community lenders and other lenders and select the one you can afford.

Thanks,

Jerry
