I want to ADD my son to the deed on my house because we have an arrangement where he will be making the mortgage payments. The mortgage for the time being is staying in my name only. Do we do a Quit Claim Deed or is there another form which we need to fill out and record with the Collin County, TX Clerk's Office?

Hi ibphyllis,

If you want to add your son to the property, you will have to sign a quitclaim deed. You would be listed as the grantor to the property whereas both you and your son would be listed as grantee to the property. Once you sign the deed, it needs to be notarized and filed at the county recorder's office where the property is located.
