Recently a veteran sent in home loan application with the VA box checked to texas veterans land board to try and obtain a VA loan, almost 2 months later appraisal and termite inspection completed the applicant receives the commitment and it turned out that it was for conventional when asked why he did not get what he applied for the response was that they are state agency. My question is if they don't offer VA lOAN are they not suppose to let the applicant decide if he wants something else instead of leading him on to the last minute and he risk loosing his earnest money. Don't texas Veteran land board offer VA I really don't understand what they mean by they are agency of the state.

Hello.

I think if the lender cannot offer you the VA loan then they should have informed you about thins. Why don't you contact with any VA approved lender?
