| we have recently lost a home in deed of lieu of foreclosure. how many years will it take to repair our credit. We had excellant credit before this took place and despite this continue in that mannner. |

A deed in lieu will affect your credit for 1-5 years. However, if there is a deficiency amount and you keep on paying the amount as much as possible on a monthly basis, this will improve your credit to some extent.
