They will really have to deny your loan modification if you don't have the qualifications. Other than that I don't see a reason why they have to deny your application.

I feel like I'm swimming upstream sometimes with no arms. Probably no legs, either.

Where do these thoughts emanate from?

I went through my budget and found that i can catch up in september,
as i am only one month late, and i don't need a modification at this time, or am i stuck in this plan with them now?
any help and advice would be greatly appreciated..

I fell behind on my wells fargo mortgage in September 2011. I managed to bring my mortgage current in December. I applied for forebearance in both Sept and December. I received no response from the bank. I applied again in January and finally they called to say they received my paperwork and will send to underwriters. Now I am behind again for January. Why did they wait so long to submit my paperwork and will being behind on my payment block my modification. I am on Unemployment.

Hi Gigi!

Welcome to forums!

Well, you need to contact the lender in order to find out why it took so much time for them to send the documents to underwriting. However, being delinquent on your mortgage payments won't affect your chances of qualifying for a loan.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

I applied for a loan modification in Sept. 2011. It is now almost March 2012 and they still keep saying "the underwriters are looking at it". Is there some sort of time limit to this approval process? I thought they had 60 days from the date of the hardship letter. I've had it and almost want to lose my house now so I don't have to think about this huge debt and worry looming over my head.

Hi jessi,

I haven't heard of any such time limit in order to get a loan modification approved. Nevertheless, you should keep in constant touch of the lender in order to find out when your request for loan modification gets accepted.

Thanks
