Deed date question 2016.

I am closing on a condo in NYC later this month (January 2016) but the seller's attorney is dating the deed mid-December 2015, he says the date on the deed doesn't matter. Is this true? Is this something I should be concerned about?

Insist on the date when you're actually closing on the deal and not what the seller's attorney suggests.
