so here is the story!
2 days ago we received a notice from our bank (alaska usa) whom we thought had financed our mortgageto inform us that we are about to receive a letter from landsafe servicing (apparently a subservicer of countrywide) because our private information was included in some data theft. after looking and searching online for the last couple of days (and trying to figure out what this has to do with us) come to find out apparently. we had no idea all this was going on, let me explain. my boyfriend bought this property back in 10/06 he thought he was getting his mortgage through(alaska usa)
now some history on said property
-the previous owner bought the property @$43.500 in 2002.
- there were no impovements made on said property
since 1997 which a surveyor stated in 2006 when.. my boyfriend bought the property.
-the property in the tax assesment by the bourough was $86.653 in 06' when he bought the property
-the appraisal that same year for the mortgage was $125.996.45
- when he signed all this paperwork he had hazard insurance provided by allstate for one year and all.
-allstate dropped his coverage the very next year and he has not been able to find any other carrier since.
-he lives outside the fire annexation and this is a mobile home.
and because the bourough records match up with what the mortgage company is asking nobody will help.
- so the mortgage company placed him on said- forced property insurance which is running him $1600+ a year.
-the insurance company is balboa which i just (about an hour ago) come to find out is part of landsafe and countrywide.
-he tried to refinance last year, he has excellent credit and a great work history but they would not help unless he handed over an additional $10000
we knew something was wrong but never could have imagined the corruption going on....nowhere in his paperwork is countrywide mentioned. the name landsafe servicing appears once in a stack of papers about 100 pages thick. all our correspondence we thought was with our local bank here in alaska.
help>>>what do we do!
Hi jeffpatty!
