My friend died, he has a typed will with 2 witnesess, never notarized is this will good in the state of Louisiana? Also I have a promissory note where he owes me money and he has a move-able as colleteral what do i need to do first. I would like to take possession of the properies as soon as possible. He had no real estate only moveables. HELP Also I am paying the lot rent to prevent the landlord from taking possession until i can get legal assistance or advice.

It would have been better if your friend had notarized the will. Nevertheless, I will suggest you to contact a real estate attorney and take his opinion in this matter.
