Can I walk away from it all?

Posted on: 24th Oct, 2007 01:02 pm
The forecloure, the bankruptcy, creditors, wow! I am so tired of it. Is it possible to walk away from it all? Establish a new identity and just start over?
Hello isacmar55,
I feel for you. It all can get very overwhelming. What I can tell you is that if you accept the situation and not let it get you down you will survive and it will get better over time. Easy to say but hard to do.

I filed chapter 7 back in 1995 due to a failed business and I felt like the world was coming down on me. The chapter 7 started me over and stopped the creditors. After 2 years I was able to purchase a home again. I used family and friends to help me rebuild my credit directly after the bankruptcy. I have rebuilt my life and am financially happy.

Don't let it get the best of you and stay positive. It is the reality of your personal situation. It won't go away, you just need to start finding ways to beat it.

I hope this helps

Regards
Tony Golden

Great words of encouragement Tony. I agree 100%, when things seem at there worst they have a tendency to get better. And the best part is when you look back at what you accomplished you will have a greater appreciation for the more important things and a great ability to handle situations such as this and maybe even be able to help someone else later, which to me is more valuable than the lesson itself. So hang in there it won't last forever and in 3 years when you are back to normal you will look back on this and say "hey, I did that and look at me now!"

I am so whipped that it's hard to do my job for crying. Then I am so embarrassed because I don't want anyone to see me crying on my job. I feel like such a failure.

I know, I walked up and down six flights of stairs from the lower level parking level to the fourth floor and prayed and talked to myself. That made me feel better but the tears still come and go.

I tried everything I could. I paid a company called Mortgage Foreclosure Solution $900 and they did absolutely nothing for me and refuse to refund my money.

I feel so used. When does the pain stops. Can I sell my house while in bankruptcy?

A failure is someone who falls down and doesn't get back up again. A failure is someone who gives up instead of reaching out for help, if nothing else just for a little support. You are posting here on this site even if just to vent, so I know for a fact that... YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE. I don't have to know you to figure that out.

We all have problems and like Tony posted above, I have had my fair share so trust me when I say that it will get better.

As far as selling goes, ask whoever is handling your bk. If you are in a ch 13 then you will have to talk to the court trustee.

I know the feeling... feeling tired, confused, insecure, "used" is a good word for it also but hey what would this life be without trials and tribulations. You said it yourself prayer helped. Do you think he gives us all these hardships out of spite. No, you already knew the answer is to teach you something...I don't know the why but I do know that you will come out of this stronger and maybe if you are lucky... You will be able to help someone in your same situation someday. It might take a month... it might take 10 years... hang in there it will get easier with time.

Hi Eric,

You are absolutely right. This trials and tribulations come to our life to teach us something and to make us better. I have a strong feeling that Isacmar will get out of this situation very soon. And as you, Tonny and all this forum members are helping him now, he will one day help thousand of people who are of the same situation and that is the aim of all of us. Isn't so :)

Best of luck isacmar.

Thanks,
Larry

Hi Tony, Eric and larry,

What a great support you have been for Isacmar. Truly I guess this is what a community is all about. Never else have i seen such people helping each other sincerely.

Isacmar, from all your other posts, what I've learnt is, you've filed Bankruptcy Chapter 13 to bring a stop to the Sheriff's Sale.

Now, I understand it's going to ruin your credit but at least when you make payments at regular intervals, it will help to rebuild your credit. All you need at this point of time, is the confidence to fight against all odds and repay your debts in a disciplined way as suggested by your bankruptcy trustee.

Regards,

Jessica.

Tony, Eric, Larry, Jessica -- You are all wonderful people

Thank you so much for not being judgmental but rather being supportive and offering suggestion, information and sharing your knowledge. I really appreciate that. I am so glad I stumbled across Mortgagefit a few month back by doing a google search on a question I had. Mortgagefit, a community of people helping each other. I praise God for that.
