can we buy again?

Posted on: 12th Sep, 2010 08:54 am
we were wondering if we could buy a house again. we had a forecloser in 2008 and filed bankruptcy over a year ago. we would really like to stop renting & have a home of our own again. we have been rebuilding our credit for the past year with a car loan that reports to the credit agencies monthly and are current on all of our other bills (utilities, phone, cable). my husband has been an employee with the state for over 6 years and i am going to school. do we have any hope of being able to buy? the sooner the better!

Welcome tracy,

I guess you've filed bankruptcy in 2009. In that case, you'll have to wait for 2-4 years depending upon the chapter of bankruptcy you filed in order to get a mortgage to buy a new property.
