Bankruptcy/Foreclosure

Posted on: 08th Jul, 2010 11:26 am
My house was included in my banktupcy back in 2008- my bankruptcy lawyer told me as long as i did not sign the re-affirmation letter to be liable for the mortgage. I stayed in the house for a year and continued to pay~ hit hard times and could not afford mortgage. I made sure my bankruptcy lawyer told me again, I was not liable for the mortgage because it was part of my bankruptcy and he told me I could opt to not pay and stay as long as they would allow us but would eventually foreclose and it would not go on my credit being it was part of the bk.... We have been gone for a year this August and just received foreclosure papers- do I just sit back and let it foreclose being it was part of the bankruptcy? It will be 3 years May of 2011 that the bankruptcy was done.
