hi stepsideal,

welcome to this forum.

after filing bankruptcy before 6 months, it is very tough to qualify for refinance. lenders generally do not agree to refinance if you file bankruptcy within 6 months. you have to wait at least one or one and half year to improve your credit and qualify for refinance. you should try for a part time job to make your payments on time so that you can improve your credit quickly.

you can also talk to your lender and see if he can provide you some alternative repayment options.

thanks,

Hi Stepsideal,

Are you getting problems to make this repayment plan? If so you can talk to the trustee and request him to make the monthly payment a bit lower. I think you have filed a BK chapter 13. I think you should try to make the payments somehow and improve your credit first. You can also request the trustee to file a petition to the court to modify your repayment plan. Thus your monthly payments will be lower and you will get more time to pay it.

Hope it will help you. Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.

Thanks,
Larry

It will be very difficult to get a mortgage let alone at an interest rate that would benefit you. I would just do what you could for extra income until the credit improves over time.
