BK override foreclosure?

Posted on: 15th Feb, 2012 02:29 am
hi there… i filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy and included everything in it. my bankruptcy filing was discharged on 1/12/2010. few days after citi mortgage, my lender started the foreclosure process. the property was sold off on may 2011. if foreclosure is not reported on my credit report as of today, will it ever show up at some point? or did the bk over ride the foreclosure? when will i be able to purchase another house?
If the foreclosure is still not reported in your credit report, I guess it won't be reported any further. After a foreclosure and bankruptcy filing, you need to wait for 3-4 years in order to qualify for a new loan.

Welcome flbk.

As quite some time has passed, I don't think the lender will report the foreclosure to the credit bureaus any further. If he wanted to inform the credit bureaus, he could have done it just after the foreclosure sale was over. However, the bankruptcy filing will be reported to your credit bureaus. If that is done, then you need to wait for 3-4 years depending upon the type of bankruptcy you filed and then apply for a loan as suggested by Niicss.
