Will name on title but not on mortgage effect my credit if filed for bankruptcy?...A condo is mortgaged in only my mother-in-laws name. Both my name and her name are on the title. She will be to filing for bankruptcy. Would this effect me or my credit in any way? Is there a way to remove my name form title? Please help! What is the best solution??
If you aren't on the mortgage than it should not effect your credit.

You can easily be removed by quitclaim deed. But if there are reasons you were on the mortgage to begin with, I would just stay on.

You are entitled to a free credit report if you want to check it. Go onto The fair credit reporting website and you should be able to obtain it.

But her credit, is not your credit.
