72 hour clause

Posted on: 12th Feb, 2010 11:56 am
I am writing up a sales contract for our house ( which my friendly lawyer friend will then review)
I am trying to find the proper wording for a 72 hour clause which would allow us to consider other (better) offers.
Any suggestions ?
are you suggesting that you'd go to contract with a buyer yet it wouldn't be valid? that you have 72 hours to reject it once you've accepted it?

please be certain not to be the person from whom i decide to buy a home. purchasers don't have those rights once a contract is binding, and i dislike the idea that a seller ought to have those rights.

whatever happened to the deal being sealed at the time of agreement? i hope it's illegal to do this - in your state, in my state, in all of God's states.

i understand what you're trying to do, obviously, but it really rubs me the wrong way.

perhaps it's all perfectly legal, but keep this in mind: that which is legal isn't necessarily expedient.
