My brother and I are making quite an handsome amount every month. He is an adult and can get a lease for himself. But I am not. Will my elder brother be able to sign a lease for me? Both of us will equally pay for the rent.

I don't think your elder brother will be able to sign a lease for you. Nevertheless, it will be better if your brother and you can get in touch with the landlord and take his opinion in this regard.

Yes, I too agree that it will be the complete discretion of the landlord to decide whether or not he will allow you to stay in the property if you are not on the lease.
