what to do with a 1099-A form after filing chapter 7 and going through foreclosure

Posted on: 26th Jan, 2011 07:07 pm
I am in such a complicated situation. I filed chpter 7 and was discharged in early 2009. I had three properties.. Our primary just foreclosued this past year and now we are receiving a 1099-A. I also have two other investment properties that have not foreclosued almost three years later..I have lost my job a year ago.. still not working and absolutely have no way of paying back anything.. I thought the chapter 7 protected me..even though the properties still haven't forclosured.. I keep getting letters from HOA attornies and other places saying I am responsible for anything after the date of being discharged. Please help!
Hi ginnypc!

Welcome to forums!

Unless your property is sold off at a foreclosure auction, you will be liable for the maintenance of the properties. Thus, the HOA will have the rights to ask you for the maintenance dues and other charges and send letters for it.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
