Quit Claim Deed to an LLC

Posted on: 23rd Mar, 2007 05:28 pm
can you quit claim deed your home to your business, an llc?
Hi Kelli,

You can transfer property into name of LLC. For that on the quit claim deed you will be named as the grantor and need to put the name of LLC as the grantee.

Like Gruen said, you can transfer the home in the name of LLC you have created. Many people do create a LLC and transfer their property into its name as it is one of the common ways of asset protection.

After completing the quit claim deed, you will have to get it notarized and recorded with your local county recorder's office. You can do all this by yourself but I would suggest you take help of an attorney to complete this process.
