MODIFICATION

has anyone heard of flaster law firm in florida to help you modify your loan? they charge a fee to be your litagator and say they can cut the crap from dealing with wells fargo on your behalf and get the job done.
i am skeptical about missing house payments while in "loss mitigation" as i am current.
I haven't dealt with this firm personally. However, while I searched for the company in Google, I found their contact details to be:
Flaster Law Firm, LLC
900 Osceola Dr.,
Suite 222B, West Palm Beach,
Florida 33409

Rather than contacting a law firm to deal with your lender, it is always better to deal with the lender yourself. As far as I know, the law firms cannot charge upfront fees for modifying your mortgage. As you're current on your payments, it's better to deal with your lender directly.

I, too, was contacted by the Flaster Law Firm who stated they could assist with my a forced re-finacing program authorized by the Fed Gov.

I requested proof of satisfied clients, proof of license to practice law in my state, and magically I never heard from them again.

Please visit the US FHA web site before you spend any money--look for the IDENTIFY SCAMS topics.

Paid $1500 in March for assistance in negotiating with Bank of America. Still no modification agreement or anything. Im beginning to lose confidence. Holding my breath and hoping for a miracle soon! Havent heard from Flaster Law Firm in weeks since resubmitting documentation. That concerns me also.

Same issue--I gave them 1500 in March and still waiting--they say they are dealing with Bank of America for me--I now do not believe it.

I have gotten a Modification through Flaster Law Firm. I received 2.9% interest through Bank of America. I lowered my payments by over $1000.00 a month. It did take a while and I was told that before the lenders did not have a time line on when they had to get to your loan and have it reviewed by but as of June 1, 2010 there is a new amendment to that law that states they have only 30 days because the governmnent was tired of hearing the complaints. So you are not alone! These banks are holding it up.

I found the best way to contact my Processor was via e-mail since they are always on the phone with these lenders. Good Luck! They will take care of you!

I also recieved great service from the Flaster Law Firm. They took my mortgage from an interest only loan of $2,395 with an interest rate of 8.5% down to $1,873 P.I.T.I. with an interest rate of 4.5% for the life of the loan. I would have to say over all it took a little over 90dys like they initially stated but well worth the wait.

I was contacted by the Flaster Law Firm but I am a bit nervous working with a Firm not in my state of Wisconsin. We have tried for over a year to get a home modification with Chase and the sarcism, beligerent customer service people I can do without. It seems you do need outside help to get the job done. If anyone knows of a good source in the state of Wisconsin to assist in a home modification please share.

Hi Guest,

Well, in my opinion, the lender is the best person to help you with a loan modification. If you take outside help in order to modify your home loan, there are chances that it may turn out to be a scam. In case, you're simply unable to convince the lender for a modification, consult an attorney who is associated with the Bar Association of your state and take his help in negotiating with the lender.

Take care.

Sara makes a good point in this last post, but I have been dealing with my lender for over a year and they seem to be overwhelmed with distressed homeowners and just dont have the time to deal with me on a one to one basis. Since I hired the Flaster Law firm they have treated me like I was a part of their family and they have worked every avenue in my eyes as of right now to put me in the best possible modification that is available to me and my family. I would strongly suggest that in doing home loan modification that you get some sort of representation one way or another or you will just end up shuffled back under the pile of the million plus applicants for these programs. One thing about hiring a law firm to handle this for you if you dot necessarily qualify for the Government Program there are other angles you can take with a firm that you may not even know about doing this on your own. I strongly suggest the Flaster Law Firm.

Please keep us posted on how the modification goes for you. I too am concerned that once they get the retention money you will not hear from them. I just received some paperwork from them via email that I will read over. Please let us know if you have new information.

Hi joelreyes!

Welcome to forums!

Rather than going through a law firm, you should contact your lender directly and apply for a mortgage modification. The lender will be the best to help you in this regard and let you know whether or not you'll get mortgage modification.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

I have been involved with the Flaster Law Firm since August, 2010, it is now February, 2011, I have been shiffted to four different negotiators as it seems everyone leaves the firm, I paid $2,500 upfront fee and still have had no modification and no contact from the firm in over a month. When I informed them that I had gotten an intent to forclose letter from Indymac Bank the negotiator now assigned to my file said he would call the lender and get back to me the next day well I have not received any phone call, he also informed me that no one involved with their firm has lost their home, I find this very hard to believe as no one ever follows up and when you call them you are informed that you have been assigned a new negotiator that knows nothing about your case.

Hi Guest,

You should once again contact your lender and re-apply for modification and request the lender to stop the foreclosure proceedings. May be this will help you in saving your property.

I to started working with Flaster in October 2010, and paid the $2500.00 fee. Bank of America has had the request since November and sat on it for over 60 days. I to have dealt with multiple para-legals and the latest seems to be working against me rather than for me with BOA. My wife and I are beginning to get suspicious and frustrated. As to dealing directly with BOA, NO WAY! They are one fo the causes for the problem in the first place. THe lender is not your friend.
